This five-minute workshare offers a fast-moving overview of my creative journey through age 40—from pianist, composer, and producer to vocalist, bandleader, theater artist, and cultural collaborator. It was created as the culminating project for my Artists INC facilitator training. I have since expanded my role within the organization and now serve as a facilitator of the program, helping other artists strengthen and sustain their creative practices.
A live performance of my original jazz composition “In Time,” recorded for KMOV’s The Stage on August 14, 2026, in promotion of my appearance at the Central West End Jazz & Blues Festival the following day. Joined by Christopher Thomas on bass and Vinnie Young on drums, the performance showcases my instrumental songwriting, jazz piano playing, improvisation, and bandleading. The composition originally appeared on the Ryan Marquez Trio’s 2018 album, Moving Forward in Time, which was made possible with support from the Regional Arts Commission.
A 2021 live performance of my original composition “Serenity” at The Grandel Theatre, featuring Anita Jackson on vocals, David Gomez on saxophone, Theo Hardin on bass, and Tim Moore on drums. The song appears on my album Saint Unity, produced by Carl Nappa, Lenny Mink, and me for Lotown Records. This performance represented the culmination of the album’s development and the completion of my 2019–2021 artist residency with the Kranzberg Arts Foundation. It showcases my work as a composer and lyricist, along with my piano playing, musical direction, and leadership of a live ensemble.
My arrangement of “Do You Know the Way to San Jose,” released in 2026 on Janet Evra’s album Magic Moments. The recording features Janet Evra on vocals, Dusty Carlson on bass, Jerry Mazzuca on drums, and me on piano, with a guest trumpet solo by seven-time GRAMMY Award winner Randy Brecker. Featuring my trio as the album’s core ensemble, this selection showcases my arranging, jazz piano, and bandleading skills while demonstrating my ability to connect exceptional St. Louis talent with an internationally celebrated jazz artist.
In 2025, I produced, arranged, composed, and performed keyboards on a track by Louis King featuring chart-topping, GRAMMY-nominated rapper Wiz Khalifa. Released on King’s album Famous in the Metaverse, the recording showcases my versatility as a producer, arranger, composer, and keyboardist. It also represents a significant professional accomplishment: contributing my creative voice to a collaboration with one of hip-hop’s most internationally recognized artists.
