Ryan Marquez – Artist Bio
Ryan Marquez is a visual artist inspired by wonder, fantasy, and the mysteries of the cosmos. His painting journey took root on his 28th birthday, when he rose at dawn at Cahokia Mounds intending to capture a sunrise. Instead, he painted a galaxy — a canvas filled with many sunrises at once. That experience became a defining moment, shaping his path toward surreal landscapes where earth and sky open into portals of imagination.
Working primarily in acrylics on canvas, Ryan has also explored pour painting through hands-on workshops. His creative practice is shaped by music and mindfulness: time in the studio doubles as a space to discover new sounds, release expectations, and embrace the art of letting go. He paints with the wonder of a child, allowing each piece to emerge freely and naturally from what is present in the moment.
Ryan’s work reflects a fascination with ancient ruins, sacred earth, and the limitless realms of fantasy. Through his dreamlike compositions, he invites viewers into spaces where magic and mystery converge — offering visions that are both expansive and timeless.
